The Reporter Week 10 Preview Capsules
Here is a look at the seven games on The Reporter’s high school football schedule for Week 10.
Abington at North Penn
Time/Place: Friday, 7:30 p.m., at Crawford Stadium, North Penn High School.

Records: The Knights are 7-2 overall and 6-0 in the Suburban One League National Conference. Abington is 1-8 overall and 1-5 in the SOL National.
What’s at Stake: The Knights can clinch the SOL National crown with a victory.
Last Week: NP came back in the fourth quarter to beat Neshaminy, 22-17. The Ghosts got their first win of the season, pushing past Bensalem, 36-35.
Last Year: The Knights shut out the Ghosts, 28-0.
Players to Watch: Nyfease West is coming on strong in the Knights’ running attack while the Ghosts need another big performance from Kyle Pitts, a dangerous runner and return man.
Prediction: North Penn 42, Abington 0.
Conwell-Egan vs. Lansdale Catholic
Philadelphia Catholic League Class AA Semifinal
Time/Place: Saturday, 3 p.m., at Cardinal O’Hara High School.

Records: LC finished the regular season 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the PCL Class AA. Egan was 5-4 and 2-2 in the PCL Class AA.
What’s at Stake: The winner advances to next week’s PCL Class AA final.
Last Week: The Crusaders mercy-ruled Neumann-Goretti 42-6 while Egan won 31-20 over Bishop McDevitt.
Last Meeting: The Crusaders were a 34-21 winner over the Eagles in Week Seven.
Players to Watch: Ryan Quigley and Marlen Fenstermacher have been the big running duo for the Crusaders all year long, and quarterback Michael Basilii is coming off a three-touchdown performance in the regular-season finale. Kyree Bronson runs hard for Egan and is a big threat in the return game.
Prediction: Lansdale Catholic 28, Conwell-Egan 21.
Pennridge at Bensalem
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Bensalem High School.

Records: The Rams are 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the SOL National. The Owls come into this one 0-9 overall and 0-6 in the SOL National.
What’s at Stake: The Rams need a win here to keep their postseason hopes alive.
Last Week: Pennridge battled past rival Souderton Area, 14-8, while Bensalem fell 36-35 to Abington.
Last Year: The Rams routed the Owls, 48-14.
Players to Watch: Quarterback Devon Balmer can keep a defense off balance with his throwing and scrambling ability, while Bensalem has Matt Haffer to hand the ball to in the ground game.
Prediction: Pennridge 35, Bensalem 14.
Souderton at Central Bucks South
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Central Bucks South High School.

Records: Souderton is 4-5 overall and 2-4 in the SOL National. The Titans are 3-6 overall and 2-4 in the SOL National.
Last Week: Big Red lost a tough one to rival Pennridge, 14-8, while South fell 27-9 to Pennsbury.
Last Year: Big Red stunned the playoff-bound Titans, 14-10.
Players to Watch: Running back Blake Gular looks to help the Indians close out the season strong while South turns to quarterback Sam Thompson for some big gains in the passing attack.
Prediction: Souderton 24, CB South 20.
Pope John Paul II at Methacton
Time/Place: Saturday, 2 p.m., at Methacton High School.
Records: Pope John Paul II is 0-9 overall and 0-8 in the Pioneer Athletic Conference. Methacton is 0-9 overall and 0-8 in the PAC 10.
Last Week: PJP lost 56-0 to Spring-Ford. Methacton also had a tough time, falling 40-14 to Pottstown.
Last Year: The Warriors won 49-12 over their rival.
Players to Watch: Quarterback Jason Eckman gives the Warriors a chance to get their first win of the season while PJP will counter with their own promising QB, Matt Duff.
Prediction: Methacton 22, Pope John Paul II 21.
William Tennent at Central Bucks West
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at War Memorial Field, Central Bucks West High School.
Records: Tennent is 4-5 overall and 1-5 in the SOL Continental. West is 2-7 overall and 2-4 in the SOL Continental.
Last Week: The Panthers lost 53-20 to Truman while the Bucks fell 42-16 to CB East.
Last Year: The Panthers won by forfeit, 2-0.
Players to Watch: Tennent has a tough runner in Dan Costello. The Bucks, meanwhile, could be in store for a big game by quarterback Eddie Shields.
Prediction: CB West 21, Tennent 20.
Upper Moreland at Wissahickon
Time/Place: Friday, 7 p.m., at Wissahickon High School.
Records: Upper Moreland is 7-2 overall and 4-2 in the SOL American. Wissahickon is 1-8 overall and 1-5 in the SOL American.
Last Week: Upper Moreland rolled, 62-14, over Springfield-Montco while the Trojans lost 18-6 to Upper Merion.
Last Year: Upper Moreland won 44-21 over the Trojans a year ago.
Players to Watch: Quarterback Casey Decker has an accurate arm and is quick on his legs, while Wiss quarterback Mike Schoenleber aims to engineer an upset.
Prediction: Upper Moreland 28, Wissahickon 12.
