Pennsbury football’s Rob Daly is headed to Ithaca College

FALLS – It’s official.

Pennsbury senior Rob Daly is headed to Ithaca College to play football.

After considering Catholic University, Gettysburg, Millerville and Kutztown, the free safety for the Falcons has announced his plan to play for the Division III Bombers this fall.

A two-time First Team All-Suburban One National League selection and Third Team All-Southeastern Pennsylvania at Pennsbury, last fall, Rob earned the Bob Trumbino Award, which is given to the player who most displays loyalty, performance and courage on the gridiron.

Rob is headed for a team that went 4-6, overall, 2-6 in the Empire 8 Conference last year. He’ll join He’ll join some other Bucks County football players in Pennsbury lineman Jack Meehan (Washington’s Crossing), Neshaminy fullback Joe Bianchino (Langhorne), Council Rock South fullback Ryan Whitely (Churchville), CR North linebacker A.J. Garboski (Newtown) and CB West safety Ralph Silva (Warwick).

Daly can’t wait.

“I really like everything about it. When I went up for my visit, I really got along with the guys,” said Rob.

“I think it’s a good fit for me.”

The whole process of making a college commitment, was a long one, said Daly, starting at the beginning of the high school football season and ending in April when he named Ithaca as the place where he’ll continue his education and football career.

“It was a long process but I think it all worked out in the end,” said Daly. “I think I made a good choice. I like the coach and I think it’s going to be a good time.

“I’m excited to get up there and get started with camp.”

Daly was the only senior on the Falcon boys basketball team that was coming off back-to-back trips to states. While Pennsbury fell in the first round of districts to CB East this past season, Rob earned Third Team All-SOL National Conference honors.
