One half is enough for Episcopal Academy in Maryland
Episcopal Academy’s football team tweeted “Crabcakes and football” before taking on St. Mary’s School in Annapolis, Md. in its season opener Friday night.
Lunch probably lasted longer than the game.
Play was stopped by lightning at halftime with the Churchmen ahead, 20-0. It will go down as a win for EA, according to head coach Todd Fairlie.
Villanova commit and All-Delco running back DeeWil Barlee, Jack Bush and Malcom Folk provided all the points the Churchmen would need. Barlee scored on a five-yard run in the first quarter to get EA on the board. The speedy Bush pulled in a 55-yard touchdown pass from Maurcus McDaniel to extend the lead to 14-0.
Folk closed out the scoring on a five-yard run in the second quarter. The Churchmen are back on the road next week when they visit Lawrenceville, N.J., Saturday afternoon.
