Golden Knights ground game dooms Kennett

Kennett Square >> West Chester Rustin’s running back Ty Pringle wasted no time setting the tone for his team. On the first play from scrimmage the sophomore bursted through the line of  scrimmage and galloped 63 yards into the end zone.
“Score. That was the first thing that came to my mind ,” said Pringle. “My blockers, they did amazing. They are the reason why we scored. Every time, it’s because of them.”
It was a sign of things to come as the Golden Knights steamrolled Kennett 49-7 on Friday night in their Ches-Mont League American Division matchup.
The visitors’ running back corps rushed for 394 yards on 38 carries and were credited for all but one to team’s touchdowns.  Pringle accounted for 224 yards and four rushing touchdowns alone.
“When Ty gets some open space he has very good vision and he can find the hole. He’s got good speed, good balance, and he knows how to run the ball very well, ” said Rustin’s coach Mike St. Clair.“We have a plethora of running backs. I try to spread the ball around, get them all the ball, and keep them interested in the game. They block for each other, run for each other, and are a really solid group.”
The defense of the Golden Knights (3-1, 5-2) shined just as much as their offense. Defensive back JT Aloisio feasted on the Blue Demons’ air attack. The sophomore collected two interceptions in the opening 12 minutes.
“Just the coaching and the reads, how the line came off the ball,” said Aloisio. “The line was great, I had so much time to drop back. They (the line) was pressuring the quarterback, he had to make quick decisions. I was just able to get back there in time.”
Aloisio, wreaked havoc all game and Coach St. Clair summed his game up perfectly.
“JT is a sophomore and he’s really picked up the defense quickly,” said St. Clair. “He goes one hundred percent all the time and he’s a playmaker. Playmakers (like him) make plays.”
Before Kennett (1-2,  2-5) could turn around, they found themselves in a 28-0 hole in the first quarter.
However they made arguably the most impressive play of the first half. It came from their wide receiver Kerry Tomasetti who reached back behind his head to make a catch that mirrored the likes of the New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham.
Trailing 35-0, the Blue Demons final got on the scoreboard in the second half. Running back Myles Robinson received the opening kick at the 10-yard line and took off down the right side of the field for the 90-yard score.
“We were fresh out of the locker room and we were down,” said Robinson. “I had to do something for the team and when I got out there I just did my thing.”
Pringle will look to set the tone for the young Rustin team again as they host Octorara next week. Kennett will make the trip to Unionville next week, both games will be played on Friday night.
