Emge leads local All-Berks Section 2 award winners

The Berks Football Coaches Association hosted its annual awards banquet last month. Led by Fleetwood’s Tyler Emge and Michael Allen, plenty of local players recevied honors. Emge was named Section 2’s Offensive Back of the Year, while Allen was named the Receiver of the Year.

Emge rushed for 2,000 yards for the Tigers this season, averaging 7.75 yards per carry. He scored 28 touchdowns. Allen caught 44 passes on the season for 962 yards (21.86 yards per carry). Of those 44 catches, 13 of them were for touchdowns.

Other specials award winners in Section 2 were as follows:

Offensive Lineman of the Year: Jack Wertz, Wyomissing

Defensive Back of the Bear: Isaac Lutz, Berks Catholic

Linebacker of the Year: Eric Bodolus, Berks Catholic

Lineman of the Year: Colin Maluchnik, Wyomissing

Coach of the Year: Bob Wolfrum, Wyomissing.
