Broken pipe forces Haverford-Garnet Valley venue change
Damage to a groundwater drainage pipe at Haverford High’s A.G. Cornog Field played havoc with Friday night’s Central League showdown between the Fords and Garnet Valley.
The problem forced Haverford officials to postpone the game and move it to Garnet Valley’s Moe DeFrank Field Saturday night. Kickoff is 7 p.m.
Work is under way to repair the problem, according to a message on the school’s website.
The game is a showdown between two of the top teams in the Central League. The Jaguars (4-1 overall, 2-0 Central League) are ranked third in the Daily Times Super 7 and have won four in a row since an opening day loss to Unionville.
The fifth-ranked Fords (4-1, 2-0) have also won four straight since they fell to Downingtown West in their season opener.
