Upper Perkiomen 3, Radnor 2 >> In a game decided by penalty strokes, the Indians kept alive their bid for a Class AA state-tournament berth after playing Radnor to a 2-2 draw in regulation time.
Abriana Gatto had the game-winning stroke for UP after Kathryn Lehman and Liz Fox made conversions. Emma Majercak was the only Radnor player to convert a stroke.
AiYi Young, assisted by Fox, put the Indians on the board with 12 minutes left in the first half. Radnor’s Grayson Berger, assisted by Page Lowry, converted 1:20 before the half to even the score.
In the second half, Lowry put Radnor up by a goal at 26:45 — Berger on the assist — before UP pulled even with Hope Flack’s tally at 5:58, assisted by Kaylie Siwy.
The score remained 2-2 through the two overtime periods preceding the penalty-stroke phase.
Liz Pierson had a seven-save day in goal for UP, with three penalty-stroke stops to her credit. Kim Mullarkey had a 16-save showing for Radnor.
