Cardinal O’Hara was seconds away from a win Monday afternoon.

Though they had to work overtime, Hannah Nihill made sure the victory remained theirs.

Nihill scored a minute and a half into the extra session on a superb slaloming run through the defense that earned the Lions a 4-3 Catholic League win over Bonner-Prendergast.

Sarah Hayes scored twice off helpers from Makayla Gallen, and Gallen also scored for the Lions (7-3, 5-0).

Carly Brosious equalized as time expired in the second half to send the teams to overtime. Riley Dolan set up that tally, as did she did for Melanie Robinson’s first-half tally. Dolan also scored for the Pandas.

Jen Ahearn made 12 saves in goal for Cardinal O’Hara, which got solid midfield play from Emily Quintus. Maggie Baldini made 14 saves for the Pandas.
