Nice cloudy, cool day on the new turf field at Upper Merion. PV’s Teresa Bartkowski started the scoring just 1:40 into the game with a nice reverse stick shot out of the air past the Upper Merion keeper. PV then had five different goal scorers over the next 18 minutes until Bartkowski finished the first half scoring barrage with another nice tip in goal off a blast into the cage from Gabriella Muschert. The second half saw a determined Upper Merion team showing their grit and determination to slow down the Perk Valley attack. The second half saw more midfield play and the PV Vikings had to work hard to get their scoring chances. Late in the game, Upper Merion got a strong push up the field, a nice steal and hard work in the circle to get a corner. But PV’s corner defense was able to break the scoring chance up and clear the ball.
