Five Villa Maria Academy players commit to colleges

Five members of Villa Maria Academy’s PIAA state championship field hockey team have committed to continue playing their sport in college. These talented seniors took their team to the state finals where they beat an undefeated Crestwood squad 2-1, to bring the state championship trophy home, for the first time since 1994.

Mary Cate Butler, daughter of James and Catherine of Collegeville, will continue her playing career at University of Delaware; Samantha Hickey, daughter of James and Tracy of Coatesville, will be playing at Georgetown; Amelia Iacobucci, daughter of Stephen and Andrea of Malvern, will play at University of Connecticut; Erika Miller, daughter of Mark and Susan of Malvern, will play at Villanova and Alexa Ostoich, daughter of Robert and Mary of West Chester, will play at Old Dominion.
