Eliso sparks big offensive by Garnet Valley
Alex Eliso came through with a goal and two assists while Colleen Bradley and Jessika Daniels each added a goal and an assist to ignite a second-half surge that enabled the host Garnet Valley field hockey team to pull away from Radnor, 6-3, in a Central League shootout Thursday.
The Jaguars’ Mikayla Jordan and Radnor’s Katie Quinn traded goals in a taut first half, but both offenses kicked into high gear after intermission. Emily Spennato and Jackie Daniels also found the back of the cage for Garnet Valley, with goalie Hailey Valerio getting credit for 23 saves.
Lydia Sydnor scored twice in the second half for Radnor, which saw netminder Kylee Rutty stop 30 shots.
Ridley 3, Upper Darby 0: Emily Johnston supplied all the scoring with three unassisted goals, while Kate Johnson and Emma Wheeler had three saves apiece in splitting time in the cage for the Green Raiders (4-0, 1-0). Tina Logowski stopped nine shots for the Royals (0-1, 0-1).
Haverford 5, Marple Newtown 0: Jillian Ross and Sophy Maute each converted penalty stroke and Waverly Datner chipped in a goal and an assist in the first half before the Fords (1-2, 1-0) turned their attention to helping Katie Wyman post the shutout.
Harriton 4, Penncrest 1: Freshman Maitlin Combs tallied the lone goal for the Lions.

Delco Christian 10, Bristol 1: Beth Yeung scored four times and fellow junior Siani McNeil totaled two goals and four assists, as the Knights (1-2, 1-0) found the back of the cage seven times in the first half en route to their first win of the season.
