Hill School 2, Kiski School 1 >> In their opening match of The Hill’s annual soccer jamboree featuring four ranked sides and eight pre-season All-Americans, the host Blues defeated Kiski School 2-1.
The Hill had three goals called back for offsides in the opening 25 minutes before Ali Kenneh finished a through ball from Ryan Wallace just before halftime. Kiski tied the match at 1-1 five minutes out of the break on an upper 90 shot from 30 yards out off a quick re-start by Max Silberg, the only shot on goal the visitors managed in the half as The Hill backline that went seven deep due to injury did an outstanding job and the dangerous Kiski side.
Hill captain Toni Adewole broke the deadlock with his own upper 90 finish in the 68th minute on a pass from Aidan Sullivan. The Blues maintained possession for most of the final 12 minutes to see the match out. Hill keeper Aiden Perry made two saves in his Hill debut.
