Recap
The Shipley Boys Soccer team celebrated their Friends League opener with a win and a clean sheet, with a 3-0 victory at Moorestown Friends Sept. 25. Tate Gallagher opened the scoring for the Gators with a thumping header after a pinpoint cross from Austin Wylie. Early in the second half, Ashkon Ashrafion chipped the ball over the back line, Wyatt Page took the ball down off his chest and took a full volley out of the air, crushing it just uner the crossbar from 18 yards out in what was definitely the goal of the game. Shipley’s scoring was completed when Ian McGrath found Ronan Higgins at the top of the box and Higgins dribbled past two defenders to find the back of the net. Solid play at the back allowed Jake Trachtenberg to keep the clean sheet.
