Young scores twice in Strath Haven win
Emmett Young was the catalyst with two goals and an assist and Peter Boerth netted a goal of his own in leading Strath Haven to a 4-2 Central League victory over Upper Darby.
Ethan Birch and JT Holstein had an assist each to help the Panthers rally from a 2-1 halftime deficit. Charlie Schankweiler (four saves) and Rob Guilday (six) split time in goal. for Strath Haven.
Also in the Central League:
Garnet Valley 2, Springfield 1 >> Brendan Fahey made the assist on the decisive goal by Kyle Fager at the 6:34 mark of the second half to seal the win for the Jaguars. Matt Neeson opened the scoring in the first with a goal off a helper from Mark Hurford.
Billy Watson scored the lone goal for the Cougars and Aiden Hoopes had seven saves.
In the Del Val League:
Penn Wood 2, Chichester 1 >> Jason Charles scored the winning goal off an assist from Richo Conteh three and a half minutes into the second overtime for the Patriots (2-2, 2-0).
Kholifa Sankoh had an unassisted goal in the first two minutes of the second half to tie the game and goalie Daniel Ballah made a pair of saves.
In the Catholic League:
Roman Catholic 5, Bonner & Prendergast 1 >> Rasheed Thomas netted a first-half goal and Tommy Denig had 10 saves for the Friars.
