Methacton 3, West Chester Rustin 1 >> TJ Taylor’s two-goal showing headed the Warriors in their non-league victory over Rustin.
Parker Stevenson completed Methacton’s scoring. Bryce Pew had Rustin’s lone goal.
South Kent 4, Hill School 1 >> South Kent scored three goals in a four-minute span prior to the end of the first half, and it rode that effort to a non-league victory over the Blues.
Hale Lombard had the lone goal for the Hill, tapping in a rebound of Kyle Sullivan’s attempt inside the first half’s final 30 seconds. Blake Groff had three saves in goal for the locals in their season opener.
Friday’s games
Pope John Paul II 2, Pottsgrove 1 >> AJ Williams rewarded John Wagner’s brilliant goalkeeping in the final minute of regulation to give the Golden Panthers a Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier Division victory over the Falcons.
Williams’ game-winner came with 48.4 seconds remaining on an assist from Jack Marinello. Wagner kept PJP in the game with 13-save goaltending as Pottsgrove out-shot PJP 14-2.
PJP benefitted from an own goal in the first half before Ethan Pace, assisted by Mike Troutman, leveled the match with 13:48 remaining.
Spring-Ford 3, Methacton 0 >> Evan Hang and Brandon Duke each figured in on pairs of goals in helping the Rams blank the Warriors in their PAC Liberty Division contest.
Hang and Duke scored and assisted on tallies — switching back and forth — as SF took a 2-0 halftime lead. The Rams’ insurance goal in the second half came when Brett Gulati hooked up with Colin Trainor on a cross in the 68th minute.
Perkiomen Valley 3, Norristown 0 >> The Vikings continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 win over the Eagles. PV (2-0, 3-0) got going in the second half when Sebastian Leyes fed Brian Love in the 43rd minute before Matt McCabe and Love scored in the 52nd and 61st minutes, respectively. Max Chamorro assisted on McCabe’s goal. PV led in shots 21-4.
Upper Perkiomen 2, Upper Merion 1 >> Goals from Cole Kendra and Kyle Shemeley gave Upper Perkiomen its first win of the season in a PAC Frontier matchup. Sam Tepe found the net for UM.
Phoenixville 11, Pottstown 0 >> The Phantoms rolled to a PAC Frontier win on goals from Clay Kopko, Kyle Flick, Jefferson Zacarias (2), Keler Garcia Fuentes (2), Josh Carboy (2), Matt Rosenfeld (2), and Ryan Cowan. Assists were from Jake Perillo, Flick, Dylan Eliasson, Dominic Sposato (2), Teddy Burton, Gabriel Fittipaldi, and Garcia Fuentes.
