Reporter Boys Soccer Roundup: Lare’s 1st career goal helps Dock Mennonite top TCA
Freshman Ben Lare opened scoring with his first career goal then added an assist on Matt Leavy’s second-half tally as the Dock Mennonite boys soccer team opened its season with a 3-1 victory over The Christian Academy Wednesday.
Lare headed in a cross from Aiden Kelly at 12:21 while Ralph Saint-Fleur doubled the Pioneers’ advantage in the first half off an assist from Micah Kratz at 15:52.
TCA pulled within 2-1 after the break on Jesse Brittain’s strike at 51:46 but the Pioneers regained the two-goal edge when Lare assisted on Leavy’s goal at 76:40.
Zach O’Brien had six saves for TCA while Dock Mennonite’s Rey Ramos made five saves.

Patriots goaltender Ryan Fairlie made three saves.
