Doumbouya helps Academy Park tie up Penn Wood

Penn Wood needed a win to grab a share of the Del Val League boys soccer title. Academy Park, though, decided to play the role of spoiler.
The Knights scored three times in the first half to force the Patriots to settle for a 3-3 double-overtime draw Friday afternoon that gave Interboro the league championship outright.
The tie also could have major playoff implications for the Patriots (11-5-2 overall, 6-1-1 Del Val League). Penn Wood entered the week ranked 21st in the latest District One Class AAA power rankings. The top 28 teams qualify for the District One Tournament.
The field will be announced on Sunday.
Lansana Doumbouya tallied twice and Yohan Chawicky added one goal to give Academy Park a 3-1 halftime lead. Penn Wood scored twice in the second half and had what would have been the winning goal in overtime erased by an offside call.
Andrew Mmah scored two goals for Penn Wood and A.J. Diallo had the other goal.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Episcopal Academy 2, Germantown Academy 0 >> Zach Viscusi netted both goals and Matt Freese stopped four shots to post the shutout for the Churchmen (11-5-2, 2-2).
In nonleague action:
Pennsbury 4, Strath Haven 1 >> The Panthers are squarely on the District One Class AAA tournament bubble after falling to the Falcons.
Strath Haven was seeded 27th going into the week. The top 28 teams qualify for the district tournament. The Panthers beat Penn Wood earlier in the week before falling to Pennsbury, which was ranked ninth in the latest power rankings.
Alex Belanger had the goal for Strath Haven, while goalie Dixon Damico made four saves.
Radnor 2, Wissahickon 2 >> The Raiders had to settle for a double overtime draw in their regular-season finale. Alex Egg-Kings converted a pass from Joe Dardel for one of Radnor’s goal. The other was an own goal by the Trojans.
