1st team
Forwards
F — Nico Meola, Sr. Kennett
Meola led the Ches-Mont with 17 goals this season as was a huge reason for the Blue Demons’ turnaround to American Division contenders and a first-round district playoff win. Meola was a Ches-Mont American first team selection.
F — Peter Ferraro, Jr. (Unionville)
Ferraro was a strong compliment to Alfonsi in Unionville’s two-man attack up top. A Ches-Mont American first team selection, Ferraro finished tied for third in the league in 13 goals in helping the Indians to the American Division championship and an unbeaten record in league play.
Midfielders
M — Ryan Fincher, Sr., W.C. Rustin
One of the area’s top midfielders, Fincher finished second in the Ches-Mont with 14 goals en route to first team honors in the American Division. Fincher was one of the key players that led the Golden Knights to the second round of the District 1 Class AAA playoffs.
M —Baley Federico, Sr., W.C. East
Federico was a huge factor in West Chester East returning to the District 1 Class AAA playoffs for the first time this decade. The senior captain scored eight goals and was selected first team in the National Division along with a spot on the All-Southeastern Pennsylvania Coaches Team.
M — Kyle Hoops, Sr. Great Valley
Hoops played a key role in Great Valley’s run to its runner-up finish in the PIAA Class AAA tournament. The Patriots entered the District 1 playoffs as the No. 15 seed and went 7-2 over a four-week stretch to finish second in the district and advance to the state final. During Great Valley’s postseason run, Hoops had three goals and finished with 10 for the season. He was selected to the Ches-Mont American Division first team and to the All-Southeastern Pennsylvania Coaches Team.
M — Max Zandi, So. W.C. Henderson
One of the rising young players in the area, Zandi was an integral part of West Chester Henderson winning the Ches-Mont National Division title. A Ches-Mont National first-team selection, Zandi’s presence was felt on defense and creating open space for his strikers.
D —Cole Baldyga, Sr. W.C. East
Baldyga was one of the top free kick specialists in the Ches-Mont, converting a 50 and 30-yard strike during West Chester East’s run to the district playoffs. Baldyga was a Ches-Mont National Division first team selection.
D— Ellis Vague, Sr. W.C. Henderson
Vague was one of the senior leaders that led West Chester Henderson to the Ches-Mont National Division title. A Ches-Mont National first team selection, Vague helped form one of the top backs in the league.
D— Brian Cortese, Sr. Unionville
Cortese was a strong defender in the Unionville back as he helped the Indians to an unbeaten record in Ches-Mont play, a third place finish in District 1 Class AAA and a state playoff appearance. Cortese was selected to the first team in the Ches-Mont American Division.
D— Mark Williams, Sr. Great Valley
Williams was a key piece in Great Valley’s ascension to second place in Class AAA. Williams was strong in the back and made key plays late in games to preserve Great Valley leads during its postseason run. He was selected to the first team in the American Division.
D— James Wood, Sr. W.C. Henderson
Wood was superb in goal and was one of the main factors in the Warriors clinching the Ches-Mont National Division title. The Ches-Mont National Division MVP finished with 13 shutouts this season as the Warriors made the District 1 Class AAA quarterfinals. Wood also was a Ches-Mont National first team selection and earned a spot on the All-Southeastern Pennsylvania Coaches Team. He also was selected to the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association All-State Team.
