Lopezes help Interboro come on strong

Diego and Willie Lopez combined for three goals, all in the second half, to help Interboro rally for a 3-1 Del Val League victory over Academy Park Thursday.

Willie Lopez tied the game five minutes into the second half. Diego Lopez scored the first of his two goals 10 minutes later to put the Bucs in front for Good. He sealed the victory in the 66th minute.

Gawayne Richards gave Academy Park (0-2, 0-1) a 1-0 halftime lead.

Chichester 12, Glen Mills 0: Austin Wilson led the Eagles with two goals and three assists. John Coleman recorded a hat trick. Adam Youssef contributed two goals and two assists, while Jared Sullivan had two goals and one assist.

In the Bicentennial League:

Faith Christian 2, Delco Christian 1: Nick DiPietro converted a penalty kick 8:49 into the second overtime to win it for Faith Christian.

Jason Yoo converted a pass from Ben Rowe in the first half to put the Knights in front, 1-0. Brody Veleber made nine saves in goal for DC.

In the Central League:

Marple Newtown 2, Strath Haven 1: George Lambritsios scored twice including the winner with 20 minutes to play in the game. Josh Gotlive assisted on the first goal. Costos Slikas had the helper on the winner.

Joe Soffer had Strath Haven’s lone goal.

Springfield 1, Penncrest 0: Nick Matyszczak sent Nick Jannelli through on a breakaway and Jannelli converted the opportunity for the winner in the 71st minute. Tyler Ranieri stopped six shots including a penalty kick in the 76th minute for his first shutout of the season.
