Gregory’s goal gives Haverford School second straight win
Haverford School made it two wins in as many days thanks to Conor Gregory’s tally in a 1-0 win over Archbishop Curley in the Under Armour Prep School Classic Saturday.
Gregory scored off a feed from Grant Yu, and goalie Quinn Letter stopped the only shot to come his way as the Fords (2-0) won for a second consecutive day at the tournament they hosted. They outshot Curley, 20-4, in dominating the day.
Upper Darby 1, Sun Valley 0: Miura Pierre-Tousaint was in the right place at the right time, finishing a feed from Kostandin Gjergo in the 63rd minute to claim the title in the Vanguard Invitational.
Bryam Gordillo made six saves to preserve the win for the Royals.
Julian Bombara kept the Vanguards in the game with 10 saves.
Avon Grove 4, Ridley 2: The host Red Devils scored four times after the interval to take control of the contest.
Jamie Fisher scored once and added an assist for Ridley in its season opener. Andrew Lodise tallied the other goal, and Jack Kopko made 11 saves.
Springfield 2, Coatesville 1: Nick Jannelli scored unassisted goals 10 minutes apart in the second half to earn the Cougars a win at the Coatesville Tournament. Mike Gerzabek made three saves, conceding just a penalty-kick goal, to get the win.
Malvern Prep 4, Radnor 1: Sasha Abadi scored off a feed from Joe Dardell in the second half, but it wasn’t enough in the consolation game of the Henderson Tournament.
