[dropcap]#7[/dropcap]Downingtown West
Coach: Billy Davis (2nd season)
Last Year’s Record: 5-5 Ches-Mont, 6-10 overall. Fifth in Ches-Mont.
Key Players: David Gallagher, ATT, Sr.; Braden Harper, DEF, Sr.; Hunter Lewis, ATT, Sr.; Joe Schretzemeier. MID, Jr.; Jack Feeney, FOGO, Sr.
Outlook: Despite a 2-9 finish to last season with a tough schedule, West returns a lot of talent starting with Gallagher on the attack. Gallagher scored 47 goals last season en route to All Ches-Mont first team honors. He and Lewis (20 goals) provide one of the top returning attacks in the league. Feeney, heading to Cleveland State, is one of the top faceoff specialists returning. Whippets will look to replace loss of goalie Carson White to graduation along with growing a young defense led by Harper.
Prediction: Dark horse in the Ches-Mont race with dangerous attack. Could end two-year district playoff drought this season.
