Plymouth Whitemarsh 74, Springfield-Monto 25 >> Abby Sharpe became the 11th player in Plymouth Whitemarsh girls basketball history to score 1,000 career points, reaching the milestone Thursday night after getting fouled on a 3-pointer and hitting all three at the line as the Colonials rolled to a Suburban One League crossover win.
Erin Daley had a game-high 33 points while Sharpe, a Penn commit, finished with 24 points for the PW (12-2, 8-1 SOL Liberty), which earned a fourth straight win. The Colonials led 41-9 at halftime after outscoring Springfield 24-2 in the second quarter.
Alana Decker’s 15 points paced the Spartans (3-10, 0-9 SOL Freedom).
Lansdale Catholic 64, West Catholic 28 >> Jaida Helm finished with 24 points as Lansdale Catholic cruised pat West Catholic to stay perfect in the Philadelphia Catholic League.
Gabby Casey chipped in 16 points while Olivia Boccella totaled 14 points for the Crusaders (9-1, 3-0 league), who have won sixth straight.
Upper Moreland 36, Central Bucks West 33 >> Katie Finnan pulled Central Bucks West even at 33 with about 17 seconds remaining but Mikel Lancit hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer off a Holly Gohl assist to give Upper Moreland the win.
“Mikel caught it with confidence and drilled it as time expired,” UM coach Matt Carroll said. “I couldn’t be happier that Mikel was the one to make that shot. She’s a great kid and an amazing teammate and she more than deserves her shining moment.”
The Golden Bears (11-1, 7-1 SOL Freedom) earned their third win in a row. West (5-7, 4-4 SOL Colonial) has dropped three of its last four.
Methacton 61, Boyertown 23 >> Mairi Smith and Reana Torres both posted double-doubles as Methacton shut out Boyertown 20-0 in first quarter and cruised to a PAC Liberty win.
Smith scored a game-high 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds while Torres finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Cassidy Kropp added 11 points and five steals for the Warriors (10-4, 6-1 PAC, 4-1 division).
Carlie Schweizer hit three 3-pointers to lead Boyertown (4-10, 3-4, 1-4) with nine points.
Archbishop Carroll 61, Conwell-Egan 43 >> Freshman Alexis Eberz scored a career-high 22 points and also collected five rebounds while junior Brooke Wilson came close to a triple-double as Archbishop Carroll stayed unbeaten in PCL play.
Wilson finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and dished out eight assists for the Patriots (5-7, 3-0 league), who led 29-19 at halftime. Olivia Nardi knocked down three 3-pointers in scoring 12 points.
Brooke McFadden led Conwell-Egan (7-7, 1-2) with 17 points while Lily Milewski added 16 points.
Boys Basketball
Norristown 65, Owen J. Roberts 54 >> Jonathan Brooks scored 27 points to lead Norristown to its fifth straight victory in the PAC Liberty contest Thursday night.
Brooks scored 18 of his points in the second half to help erase a 30-26 deficit at halftime. Jayden Byrd added 17 points while Myon Kirlew and Miles Daniels each had seven for the Eagles (8-7, 6-1 PAC, 4-1 PAC Liberty).
Central Bucks East 52, Pennsbury 51 >> Joey Giordano drove for a layup at the buzzer for the last two of his game-high 22 points as Central Bucks East earned a dramatic victory in a matchup between SOL division leaders.
Jacob Cummiskey, who had 11 points, made a 1-and-1 at the foul line with 14 seconds left to put the Patriots (14-1, 9-0 SOL Colonial) up one. However, Ty Kocak scored off a drive to give Pennsbury a 51-50 lead with five seconds to go.
Kocak had a team-high 20 points while Teddy Mangan collected 13 points for the Falcons (9-4, 6-3 SOL Patriot), who had their seven-game win streak snapped.
Giordano added four steals and three assists as East won its fifth in a row.
Archbishop Wood 57, Devon Prep 50 >> Archbishop Wood trailed 50-37 after three quarters but proceeded to shut out Devon Prep in the fourth, Jahlil Bethea and Duece Maxey combining for 16 of the Vikings’ 20 points in the final period as they rallied for a Catholic League win.
Bethea scored a game-high 20 points for Wood (5-5, 2-2 PCL) while Maxey collected 12 of his 14 points in the second half.
Ty Mishock made three of Devon Prep’s 10 3-pointers as he scored all of his team-best 17 points in the first half. Lucas Orchard scored seven of his 10 points in the third for the Tide (9-4, 2-2).
Methacton 51, Boyertown 35 >> Matt Christian connected on five 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 17 points as Methacton pulled away with a big third quarter to earn its third straight win in the PAC Liberty contest.
Cam Chilson finished with 10 points for the Warriors (11-4, 5-2 PAC, 3-2 division), who led 20-15 at halftime before outscoring Boyertown 22-4 in the third.
Zach Ward led the Bears (8-5, 2-5, 1-4) with 10 points.
