Reporter Boys Basketball: Souderton, North Penn roll to SOL Continental wins
Souderton 61, Central Bucks East 44 >> Souderton took over the second quarter, outscoring Central Bucks East 20-4 for a 33-12 halftime advantage as the Indians cruised to an SOL Continental win Tuesday.
Jack Towsen had a game-high 19 points, Jason Price posted 18 points while Matt Uhrich added 12 points for Souderton (12-7, 6-4 conference), which has won two straight and four of its last five. Big Red extended its lead to 46-20 at the end of the third.
Joe Jackman scored nine points for CB East (12-8, 6-4), which had a three-game win streak stopped. Steven Kennedy and Tyler Young each had eight points.
North Penn 65, Quakertown 48 >> Matt Swanson scored a game-high 22 points and North Penn used a big second quarter to snap a two-game losing skid.
Josh Jones finished with 19 points while Rob Carangi collected 11 of his 13 points in the second quarter as the Knights (7-12, 3-6 SOL Continental) outscored Quakertown 26-10 in the period to go into halftime up 37-24. North Penn extended its advantage to 56-35 at the end of the third.
Matt Catalano made five 3-pointers in scoring a team-high 17 points for the Panthers (2-17, 0-9 SOL Continental).
Central Bucks South 46, Pennridge 43 >> Alex Dietz tallied a game-high 15 points as Central Bucks South built a 30-22 halftime lead and held on to knock off SOL Continental leader Pennridge.
Mike Waltrich chipped in 11 points for the Titans (10-9, 5-5 conference), who ended a three-game losing streak.
Christian Guldin paced the Rams (13-5, 7-2) with 14 points while Trent Fisher finished with 11 points.
Upper Moreland 51, Upper Dublin 44 >> Byron Hopkins had a big first half, scoring 17 of his game-high 26 points before the break as Upper Moreland won its fourth in a row.
Tyler Ibbetson knocked down three 3-pointers to finish with nine points for the Golden Bears (12-5, 6-5 SOL American), who led 33-19 at halftime.
Upper Dublin (8-10, 5-8 SOL American) cut the margin to seven entering the fourth but could not complete the rally as it dropped its third straight. Drew Stover paced the Cardinals with 16 points while Amare Johnson had 10 points.
Dock Mennonite 68, Delco Christian 45 >> Darius Ellis and Steve Martin both finished with 15 points as Dock used strong first and third quarters to cruise past visiting Delco Christian.
Dallas Wilder added 10 points for the Pioneers (13-4, 10-1 BAL Presidents), who went out to a 21-10 lead after a quarter. Up 35-23 at halftime, Dock pulled away by taking the third 24-8 for a 28-point lead.
The Christian Academy 72, Jenkintown 48 >> Grant Sareyka drained four 3-pointers as he went off for 29 points as The Christian Academy rolled past Jenkintown to stay unbeaten in BAL play.
Sam Geathers and Jourdan Greene had 14 and 13 points, respectively, for the Crusaders (15-3, 12-0 BAL Constitution), who won their sixth straight. TCA led 33-17 at halftime.
Clinton Jackmon and Emmet Tweh both made three 3-pointers for Jenkintown (5-13, 5-7 BAL Constitution), Jackmon finishing with a team-high 17 points while Tweh added 11 points.
