Reporter Boys Basketball Roundup: Souderton, Dock, Methacton earn holiday tournament wins

Souderton 54, Neshaminy 49 >> Jason Price scored a game-high 20 points and Souderton held off Neshaminy’s fourth-quarter charge to claim a win Friday at the West Chester Rustin Winter Classic.

Dom Natale added 14 points for the Indians (7-1, 2-1 SOL Continental), who led  38-27 after three quarters.

Damon McGovern had a team-high 15 points for Neshaminy (3-4, 1-2 SOL National) while Kyle Saglimben and Jimmy MacDonald both finished with 10 points.

Dock Mennonite 66, Dobbins 36 >> Playing in their first home game of the season, Dock Mennonite led 35-19 at the half then proceeded to outscored Dobbins 25-10 in the third as the Pioneers (6-2, 3-0 BAL Presidents) cruised to a win in their holiday tournament.

Methacton 67, Wissahickon 40 >> Erik Timko connected on four 3-pointers in finishing with a game-high 28 points as Methacton rolled to a fourth-straight win at the Perk Valley Holiday Shootout.

Jeff Woodward posted 15 points for the Warriors (7-1, 3-0 PAC Liberty). Methacton led 35-17 at halftime. 

Matt Compas scored 12 points to pace the Trojans (3-6, 2-1 SOL American), who had their three-game win streak snapped.

Perkiomen Valley 46, North Penn 43 >> Tyler Lapetina collected a game-high 16 points as host Perkiomen Valley outscored North Penn 13-5 in the fourth quarter to rally for a victory at the PV Holiday Shootout.

Kameron Parks chipped in nine points for the Vikings (3-5, 0-3 PAC Liberty), who have won three straight.

Mike Chaffee hit three 3-pointers in scoring a team-high 15 points for the Knights (2-5, 0-2 SOL Continental), who led 28-19 at halftime. Rob Carangi and Matt Swanson each added eight points for North Penn.

Upper Dublin 62, West Chester Henderson 55 >> Drew Stover posted a game-high 25 points as Upper Dublin (4-3, 1-2 SOL American) ended a two-game skid with a win at Great Valley’s holiday tournament.

Plymouth Whitemarsh 84, Manning (S.C.) 70 >> Luke DiCianno erupted for 31 points and was one of five Plymouth Whitemarsh players to score in double figures as the Colonials won their opening at the Blue Star Invitational in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

Zuri Jerman had 12 points while Caelin Peters, Jaden Pryce and Ray Tomassetti all scored 10 points as PW (3-5, 2-1 SOL American) end a two-game skid. The Colonials face Kentucky’s Oldham County in the American Challenge Bracket semifinals Saturday.

Governor Mifflin 63, Pennridge 55 >> Pennridge could not erase a 12-point deficit after three quarters as Governor Mifflin handed the Rams their first loss at the Boyertown Holiday Tournament.

Christian Guldin’s 19 points led the Rams (6-1, 2-0 SOL Continental) while Trent Fisher added 12 points. Mifflin led 22-20 at halftime but outscored Pennridge 18-8 in the third to go up 40-28. The Rams recorded 27 points in the fourth but Mifflin answered with 23.

Lower Moreland 51, Jenkintown 36 >> John Przybylinski and Justin Sandler each scored 15 points as Lower Moreland jumped out to a 13-point lead after a quarter and went on to beat host Jenkintown in the semifinals of the Robert Hopf Tournament.

The Lions (5-3, 4-0 BAL Independence) led 16-3 after the first eight minutes and still led by at the half at 30-17. Lower Moreland faces Upper Moreland – a 55-41 winner over Calvary Christian in the other semi –  in the tournament final 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

Jadan Welch scored 13 points to pace Jenkintown (0-7, 0-2 BAL Constitution), who takes on Calvary Christian in the consolation 2 p.m. Saturday.
