Haseltine’s effort not enough for TCA
Despite a solid all-around effort by Brit Haseltine, The Christian Academy suffered a 53-47 defeat at home to Devon Prep in nonleague boys basketball action Monday.
Haseltine totaled nine points, eight rebounds, six steals and six assists for the Crusaders (3-10), who allowed a three-point lead at halftime fall by the wayside.
Jalen Sherrill (six rebounds) and Davier Daniels (four steals) scored 12 points apiece in the losing cause. Devon Howard notched three blocked shots.
In the Catholic League:
St. JoSeph’s Prep 57, Bonner-Prendergast 47 >> Dylan Higgins had 14 points and eight rebounds, but the Friars (7-5, 1-3) couldn’t catch the Hawks. Keith Washington added 10 points in the setback.
Conwell-Egan 53, Cardinal O’Hara 40 >> Jaye’Lyn Peebles drained three 3-pointers en route to a game-high 22 points, and Zakee Griffin also downed three trifectas to finish with 14 points, but the Lions (4-9, 0-4) fell in their third straight league matchup with a reigning PIAA champion.
