Recap
It put on a solid offensive game Sunday. But The Hill School boys basketball team was more than a one-dimensional unit on the third day of the Westtown Tournament. The Blues flexed considerable defensive muscle as they overran Redemption Christian Academy (Mass.), 70-46, to complete a 2-1 opening weekend of their 2018-19 season.
The Hill held RCA to just 19 first-half points, sparked by co-captain Justin Adedinsewo’s early steals, in building an insurmountable 39-19 halftime advantage in this consolation game. The Blues showed offensive progress and competed to the end, as Payton Reid, Paul Henson and Tim Wamakima all took second-half charges.
In just three quarters of action, Hill starters put up solid scoring numbers as Gabe Dorsey led the way again with 18 points. Caleb Dorsey added 12 points to go with six rebounds and four assists while Colgate-bound Ryan Moffatt had nine points, five rebounds and three assists.
Xavier Mayo (NJIT) was active early scoring and rebounding before yielding minutes to underclassman Paul Henson, who tallied eight points and seven rebounds.
The Blues head to Thanksgiving break and will return to action Nov. 28 with a game at Shipley School.
