Recap
He was just one of four Pope John Paul II basketball players to score in double figures … and at the end of the list, to boot.
But at crunch time, Drew McKeon came up very big for the Golden Panthers Saturday.
McKeon had five of his 10 points in overtime, keying PJP’s 58-55 victory over the Phantoms in their Pioneer Athletic Conference Frontier Division game. His individual effort came close to matching Phoenixville’s total OT output in a matchup of two of the division’s three teams coming into the day tied for third place in the Frontier ranks.
Tyshere Malachi-Deveaux netted a game-high 19 for PJP (5-3 division, 9-8 overall), with Chris White and Justin Green adding 12 apiece. Phoenixville (4-4, 8-9), which forced the overtime issue with a narrow 17-16 edge in fourth-quarter scoring, got 13 points from Dylan Clark and 10 apiece from Colton Brown and Clay Kopko.
