Recap
After a near 3 week hiatus, Hill (9-3) opened up league play on Saturday night against a good Hun team. The Blues ability to defend Huns offense for 32 minutes proved to be the deciding factor in the game as Hill took the lead early in the game and never looked back in route to a 65-35 victory. Hill was led in scoring by Chase Audige ’18 who had 10 points in the opening frame and a game high 16 points in the game. Fellow seniors Seth Maxwell ’18 and Nick Alikakos ’18 put up 9 points each and combined for 15 rebounds. Overall Hill was able to put 11 players in the scoring column.
Having nearly three weeks off, both teams showed rust early on as there was not a lot of flow to the game. Hun used a full court press and kept switching defenses to keep Hill on its toes. This strategy worked early against Hill early on as they turned the ball over multiple times and were not able to execute its offense in the half-court. Hill adapted by putting the ball inside and using its depth. Justin Adedinsewo ’19 came off the bench for Hill and provided a big boost during a pivotal stretch in the second quarter. In the end it was Hill’s tenacity on defense that carried them tonight as they held Hun to missed shot after missed shot. The Blues will have a quick turnaround now as they play rival Lawrenceville away on Wednesday at 4:45.
