Catcher Steven Colucci was 3-for-4 with two RBI and Richard Black threw five scoreless innings to lead Boyertown to a shutout in its non-league opener.

Colucci, who hit a two-run homer in the three-run third inning, led the Bears’ 10-hit offense, which also got two-hit games from Max Kneidinger and Randy Wynings.

Black allowed three hits over five innings and struck out two. Joseph Kerns tossed two innings of hitless ball in relief.
