Episcopal walks off twice in double-dip sweep
Episcopal Academy had a double dose of walk-off wins Saturday.
Jake Jaszcz drove in the tying and winning runs with a double in Episcopal’s 11-10 victory over Bonner & Prendergast. In Game 2, Mitch Pagano’s sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth lifted the Churchmen past Penncrest, 5-4.
Pagano roped a bases-clearing triple in the opener. Brian Virbitsky and Daniel Kane added three base knocks for the Churchmen.
Matt Shepherd had two hits and two RBIs, while Matt Headley contributed three RBIs for the Friars.
Pagano continued to rake in Game 2, collecting two hits, including a two-bagger. He also got the win in relief with a clean eighth inning. Jake Shaud notched his first varsity hit for the Churchmen (10-4).
In the Bicentennial League:
Delco Christian 16, Jenkintown 6 >> Winning pitcher Tyler Rossini clubbed a homer and a triple to lead the Knights.
Robert Lucas homered and reached base four times for the Knights. Rossini, Brett Tanis and Nathaniel Tutton all got on base three times.
