Bonner & Prendergast wins on Dellabarba’s walk-off single
Dom Dellabarba was the hero in Bonner & Prendergast’s come-from-behind, 7-6 victory over Father Judge in a Catholic League baseball game Wednesday.
Dellabarba had the walk-off single to complete a four-run rally in the bottom of the seventh inning, pushing the Friars’ undefeated streak to five.
Steve Furman hit a double to cut the deficit to two runs. He was 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
Tim Dougherty had two hits, including a double, and three RBIs. Evan Raiburn struck out two to pick up the win in relief.
In other Catholic League action:
Cardinal O’Hara 7, St. Joseph’s Prep 1 >> Luke Zimmer collected three hits and three RBIs for the Lions (3-1, 1-1). Brian Bromley had two hits and drove in three runs. Kevin Sessa earned the win.
Archbishop Wood 7, Archbishop Carroll 2 >> Nick Argentieri’s two-run double in the seventh inning spoiled the shutout for Wood starter Sean Hughes. Rich Melito singled and hit the ball hard all three times at the dish.
In the Central League:
Harriton 16, Radnor 13 >> Jack Deshan was 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs as the Raiders lost a slugfest.
Andrew Austen and Will Hoysgaard both added a pair of hits.
Each team committed six errors.
Conesotoga 7, Garnet Valley 3 >> Alex Fisher went 1 for 3 with two RBIs and Dominic Bertone slugged a double for the Jaguars.
In the Inter-Ac League:
Episcopal Academy 3, Germantown Academy 1 >> Episcopal’s Kyle Virbitsky pitched 5 2/3 innings with 11 strikeouts while walking none and allowing just four hits. Alec Frey recorded the save.
Alex Burman and Will Phillips each knocked in a run for the Churchmen.
