PAC Baseball RDP: OJR, Boyertown, Methacton pick up wins
The Owen J. Roberts baseball team used a four-run third inning to set the tone for its victory over Pottstown Thursday.
The Wildcats brought the 10-run rule into effect at the end of the sixth inning, posting a 10-0 victory.
Andrew Fisher swung the biggest bat for OJR (2-0), going 3-for-3 and driving in a pair of runs. Joe Zgleszewski (2-for-3) and C.J. Weaver (2-for-4) had other multiple-hit games for Roberts in support of the combined one-hit, five-strikeout pitching of Dawson Stuart and Nate Tomlin.
Logan Pennypacker was the lone Pottstown player to hit safely.
Boyertown 8, Upper Perkiomen 1 >> Ryan Weller and Ben Longacre combined for four hits and seven RBIs to lead the Bears in their PAC-10 win over the Indians.
Andrew Bauer recorded the win for Boyertown. He allowed one run over four innings, striking out three, walked none and surrendered just five hits. Mike Xanthopolous put away the final nine outs to record the save.
Kacey Myers took the loss for UP, touched for six runs (four unearned) in 4-1/3 innings.
Methacton 8, Pottsgrove 2 >> Demetrio Rodriguez went 4-for-5 with three RBI as the Warriors used a four-run fifth inning to put away the Falcons.
Ryan Pellicano and Nick Wheeler each scored twice for the victors, which pounded out 11 hits and took advantage of Pottsgrove’s five errors. Patrick Pennypacker got the win on the bump after throwing three innings, allowing three hits and zero earned while striking out two and walking none.
