
The Main Line high school girls’ tennis courts featured plenty of aces this past fall, highlighted by PIAA 3A state champion Conestoga and InterAc champion Episcopal Academy.
The All-Main Line high school girls’ tennis teams are selected by the coaches. The Main Line Media News sports staff limits the number of spots available to first team, second team and honorable mention – but follows the priority of the coaches’ selections.
What follows are the 2022 All-Main Line high school girls’ tennis teams:
First team – singles
Amy Walsh, Agnes Irwin – A repeat selection on All-Main Line first team, junior posted a 7-4 record at first singles and was named to the All-Inter-Ac first team.
Bella Hu, Baldwin School – Junior was named the Inter-Ac’s MVP for the second straight year, posting a 13-0 record at first singles. A repeat pick on All-Main Line first team.
Eesha Sharma, Baldwin School – Junior was a first team All-Inter-Ac girls tennis selection, posting an 8-4 record at second singles for a strong (10-3) Polar Bears squad.
Isabelle Emmanuel, Conestoga – Freshman, a first team All-Central League singles selection, posted a 15-4 record at first singles for the PIAA 3A state champions. Also teamed with sibling Kate Emmanuel to capture the Central League doubles championship.
Kate Emmanuel, Conestoga – Junior, a first team All-Central League singles selection, posted a 17-2 record at second singles for the PIAA 3A state champions. A repeat selection on All-Main Line first team, she teamed with sibling Kate Emmanuel to capture the Central League doubles championship.
Jennifer He, Conestoga – Junior, a second team All-Central League singles selection, posted a 17-2 record at third singles for the PIAA 3A state champions.
Kamora Helton, Episcopal Academy – Junior was a first team All-Inter-Ac selection, posting an 11-5 record at first singles for an EA squad that posted a 16-1 record (12-0 InterAc). Is a repeat selection on first team All-Main Line.
Avery Morris, Episcopal Academy – Freshman was a first team All-Inter-Ac selection,, posting a 13-1 record at second singles for an EA squad that posted a 16-1 record (12-0 InterAc).
Carter Yearly, Episcopal Academy – Sophomore was a first team All-InterAc selection, posting a 16-1 record at third singles for an EA squad that posted a 16-1 record (12-0 InterAc).
Rachel Wang, Harriton – Senior was a first team All-Central League selection at singles, and posting a 9-2 league mark at first singles for the Rams.
Ashley Gomes, Merion Mercy Academy – Junior, a repeat first team All-Main Line first team selection, finished second in the AACA singles tournament, and teamed up with Sofiia Berestetska to win the District 1 2A doubles title and PIAA 2A doubles championship.
Sofiia Berestetska, Merion Mercy Academy – Junior won the AACA singles tournament, advanced to District 1 2A singles finals, and teamed up with Ashley Gomes to win the District 1 2A doubles title and PIAA 2A doubles championship.
Leina Ciarrocchi, Radnor – Junior was a first team All-Central League selection at singles, posting a 14-4 record at first singles. A repeat first team All-Main Line selection, she was the Central League singles champion and teamed with Mia Xie to finished second in the PIAA 3A state doubles championships.
Mia Xie, Radnor – Senior was a first team All-Central League selection at singles, posting an 18-0 record at second singles. A repeat first team All-Main Line selection, she finished second at the Central League singles championship and teamed with Leina Ciarrocchi to finished second in the PIAA 3A state doubles championships.
Tori Allen, Shipley – Senior posted a perfect 8-0 record at first singles for the Gators and captured the Friends Schools League singles championship. Will play tennis for Bucknell University.
Second team – singles
Academy of Notre Dame – Caroline Daly, senior, first singles.
Agnes Irwin – Nine Kirkpatrick, senior, second singles.
Archbishop Carroll – Lizzy Hennessy, senior, first singles.
Baldwin School – Avani Shah-Lipman, junior, third singles.
Barrack Hebrew Academy – Megan Grob, senior, first singles; Maya Koval, senior, second/third singles; Sami Zivitz, senior, first/second singles.
Friends’ Central – Allison Whellan, senior, third singles; Margot Groundwater, freshman, first singles; Savina Copas, junior second singles.
Harriton – Kelly Tong, senior, second singles; Julia Carrasco, junior, third singles.
Radnor – Grace Gordon, junior third singles.
Shipley – Lily Colvin, second singles.
Honorable mention – singles
Academy of Notre Dame – Ella Abramson, junior, second singles.
Agnes Irwin – Kathryn Chang, senior, third singles.
Haverford High – Kaitlyn Blickley, first singles.
Villa Maria Academy – Claire Carroccio, sophomore first singles.
First team – doubles
Bella Chen and Melissa Fan, Conestoga – Chen, a senior captain, and Fan, a junior, teamed up to post a 16-3 record at first doubles. This duo was named to the first team All-Central League doubles team.
Michelle Han and Sowmya Krishna, Conestoga – Han, a senior, and Krishna, a sophomore teamed up to post a 17-2 at second doubles for the PIAA 3A state champions. This duo was named to the first team All-Central League doubles team.
Maggie Dugery and Izzy Rozes, Episcopal Academy – Dugery, a senior, and Rozes, a junior, teamed up to post a 16-1 record at first doubles for the InterAc champion Churchwomen.
Megan Nieh and Lucy Sun, Harriton – Sophomore duo, a first team All-Central League selection, teamed up to post a 9-2 league record at first doubles.
Emma Fox and Sophie Carter, Radnor – This junior duo, a first team All-Central League doubles selection, posted an 11-5 record at first doubles for the Raptors.
Second team – doubles
Agnes Irwin – senior Lily Halpert/sophomore GiGi Seibert, first doubles.
Baldwin School – sophomore Amelia Skawinsky/senior Sophia Ran, first doubles.
Barrack Hebrew Academy – Emily Strick, first doubles.
Conestoga – senior Bella Rowe/freshman Sofia Calvitti, third doubles.
Episcopal Academy – senior Maggie Lo/senior Elizabeth Boruff, second doubles; senior Riya Mukherjee/junior Michelle Jiang, third doubles.
