Reporter Girls Basketball Roundup: CB West tops Souderton; Plymouth Whitemarsh rolls to 5-0
Central Bucks West 41, Souderton 24 >> Jess Broskey paced Central Bucks West with 10 points as the Bucks built a 21-11 halftime lead and pulled away Tuesday to end a five-game losing streak to SOL Continental rival Souderton.
Paige Gilbert added eight points for West (3-1, 2-0 conference), which has won three in a row. Mikaela Reese scored a game-high 12 for the Indians (2-3, 0-2), who lost their second straight.
Pennridge 50, Quakertown 31 >> Evelyn Loughery finished with 15 points as Pennridge used a fast start to win its SOL Continental opener.
Sophie Cweiber added seven points for the Rams (4-1, 1-0 conference), who had 10 players record at least two points. Pennridge jumped out to a 15-2 lead after a quarter, was up 23-9 at halftime then pulled away from Quakertown (2-3, 0-2) in the third — outscoring the Panthers 13-6 in the quarter for a 21-point lead.
Plymouth Whitemarsh 72, Springfield-Montco 24 >> Plymouth Whitemarsh had four players in double figures — Jordyn Thomas and Anna McTamney both finishing with 15 points — as the Colonials cruised to an SOL American win.
Kaitlyn Flanagan recorded 14 points while Abby Sharpe had 11 points for PW (5-0, 2-0 conference). Springfield fell to 1-4 (0-2)
