2015 Mercury All-Area Selections

FIRST TEAM

 

Joe Adighibe, Perkiomen Valley

Senior … Sprints/Jumps … Captured most gold medals at PAC-10 Championships with four total … Won the long jump with a 22-1, the 200 meters with a 23.04, and ran on Vikings 4×100 relay that won gold with school record 43.44, and also on winning 4×400 (3:25.3) … Captured bronze in long jump with a 21-11 1/4 at District 1-AAA … Placed ninth in long jump with a 21-7 3/4 at PIAA Championships.

 

Colin Crosbie, Spring-Ford

Junior … Mid-distance … Captured gold medal in the 400 with a 50.92 at PAC-10 Championships …. Also anchored Rams 4×400 relay that won silver at PAC-10 … Placed 11th in 400 (51.39) at District 1-AAA.

 

Dylan Eddinger, Boyertown

Senior … Distance/mid-distance … Was area’s highest finisher at PIAA-AAA Championships capturing bronze in 800 with a 1:51.19, bettering his own school record … Captured two medals at District 1-AAA, winning bronze in the 800 with a school record 1:53.99, breaking a school record (1:54.7) that had stood since 1997, and also placed fourth in 1,600 with a 4:17.21… Captured the gold in the 800 with a meet record 1:55.78 PAC-10 at Championships, breaking a record that had stood since 1988 … Also won silver in 1,600 with a 4:14.71 at PAC-10.

 

Devon Fink, Pottsgrove

Senior … Hurdles … Medaled at District 1-AAA in the 300 hurdles, placing seventh with a 40.33 … Won silver in 110 hurdles with a 15.63 at PAC-10 at PAC-10 Championships … Went undefeated in both 300 and 110 hurdles in dual meet season, but took bad fall in 300 hurdles at PAC-10 and could not finish race.

 

Anthony Hedgepeth, Pottsgrove

Senior … Jump … Captured gold in triple jump with a 44-6 at PAC-10 Championships … Also won silver in long jump with a 21-6 at PAC-10.

 

Brandon Leacraft, Spring-Ford

Senior … Throws … Medaled at PIAA Championships in javelin, placing seventh with a 182-9 … Won bronze in javelin with a 180-0 at District 1-AAA and also places 14th in discus (130-4) … Won gold in javelin with a 180-2 at PAC-10 Championships … Also won silver in discus with a 141-9 at PAC-10.

 

Bryan Leacraft, Spring-Ford

Senior … Throws … Won silver in the javelin with a 181-1 at District 1-AAA … Won bronze in javelin with a 165-1 at PAC-10 Championships … Placed 23rd in javelin (154-1) at PIAA Championships.

 

John Lozinak, Methacton

Junior … Hurdles/Jumps … Captured gold in 300 hurdles with a 40.81 at PAC-10 Championships … Also won silver in triple jump with a 44-2 3/4 at PAC-10 … Placed 11th in 300 hurdles (40.82) at District 1-AAA.

 

Bryant Perez, Pottstown

Sophomore … Hurdles … Captured gold in 110 hurdles with a 15.46 at PAC-10 Championships … Also placed fourth 300 hurdles (41.26) at PAC-10.

Paul Power, Spring-Ford

Senior … Distance … Medaled at the PIAA Championships placing fourth in the 3,200 with a school record 8:59..87 … Was area boys lone gold medalist at District 1-AAA winning the 3,200 with a 9:15.51 … Also placed ninth in 1,600 with a 4:20.33 at districts … Captured three gold medals at PAC-10 Championships, winning the 3,200 with a 9:41.98 and the 1,600 with a 4:13.35, and anchoring the Rams 4×800 (8:05.21) to a win … Contributed most points to Rams fifth straight PAC-10 championship win.

 

Darnell Randall, Perkiomen Valley

Senior … Jumps/Sprints … Captured gold in high jump with a 6-4 at PAC-10 Championships …. Also ran on the Vikings 4×100 that captured the PAC-10 gold with a school record 43.44 at PAC-10.

 

Charlie Ricard, Hill School

Senior… Throws … Captured two gold medals at the PAISAA Championships, winning the shot put with a 50-7 1/4 and the discus with a 128-0 … Placed second in the shot put at the Mid-Atlantic Prep League Championships with a school record 51-7 … Placed second in discus at MAPL Championships with a 122-10.

 

Nick Shaffer, Methacton

Junior … Captured gold in 100 meters with an 11:41 at PAC-10 Championships … Qualified for districts but had to withdraw due to re-injuring hamstring in 100 at PAC-10s.

 

Elijah Shalaway, Boyertown

Junior …Throws … Captured gold in discus with a 148-3 at PAC-10 Championships … Also won silver in javelin with a 169-6 at PAC-10s … Medaled in javelin at District 1-AAA, placing seventh with a 166-2 … Also placed 13th in discus (134-2) at districts.

 

Chad Smiley, Spring-Ford

Sophomore … Pole vault … Captured gold in pole vault with a 12-0 at PAC-10 Championships.

Danielle Stauffer, Spring-Ford

In her first year as Rams head coach, Stauffer kept league title string going as Spring-Ford boys captured their fifth straight Pioneer Athletic Conference Championship … Rams have only lost one dual meet in last five years.
