Recap

Mae Walsh picked a fine time to score her first career varsity goal, rocketing home a cross from Lizzie King from 12 yards out in the first overtime period to send the No. 7 seed Panthers to the second round, where they’ll host No. 10 Downingtown West.

King opened the scoring in the first half off a feed from Julianna DeCarlo, and Annie O’Dea made the Strath Haven lead 2-0 by halftime.

Haverford fought back thanks to goals by Amelia Durfee and Sadie Gold, but the No. 26 Fords were stymied by seven saves from Strath Haven’s Katie Fisher.
