EAST ROCKHILL >> Eighty three wins and counting.
Pennridge’s Logan Green came another victory closer to 100 for his career, winning by pin in 1 minute, 34 seconds at 195 pounds Wednesday night. Green, helping to lead the Rams to a 42-39 victory over the Bucks, continues to be a driving force and senior leader.
“I’m writing my goals down every night and watching motivational videos. I know it sounds corny,” Green says with a smile, “but it really keeps me focused on my goals.”
The Rams were solid throughout, locking up the victory at 195 when Green won by pin, extending the lead to 42-9.
“It’s the home opener, and to come out with a win is always good,” Green said. “It’s a rivalry. The matches really get hyped up.”
Moving Right Along
Green won a sectional title last year and was fourth in the region.
He didn’t place at states, but looks to get that done as a senior.
“I was working on some things that I’ve been trying to improve upon,” he said of his match Wednesday. “The season’s coming along, quickly coming to an end, which is kinda scary.
“But I’m definitely looking to states, hoping to make it up to the podium.”
Home Crowd
There was plenty of buzz in the gym Wednesday night, as the Rams battled their way to a Suburban One League Continental Conference victory.
Said Green: “Wrestling away is fun but when it’s home, and you have your hometown crowd out here supporting you, it’s a lot more fun.”
On the Rise
Pennridge won four matches by pin and dominated the upper weights.
“We’re still pretty young but it’s a step up from last year,” Green said. “All of the guys coming back that were freshmen are now sophomores, picking up as much as they can in the offseason and training harder and trying to get better, trying to improve the team as much as they can.”
