In addition to Wrestler of the Year Hunter Catka of Sun Valley, the All-Delco team includes:
Alex Treloar, Ridley: The sophomore 106-pounder enjoyed a highly successful varsity debut. He went 30-10 for the Green Raiders with 20 of his wins coming by fall. Treloar took second at the Central League championships and placed third at the District 1 Class 3A South sectional to earn a trip to the regional tournament.
Keito Shaw, Upper Darby: Talk about a turnaround story. Shaw wrestled one varsity bout as a sophomore, which he lost, and made the PIAA Class 3A championships as a junior. Along the way Shaw compiled a 38-11 record, won a Central League title, finished third at the District 1 Class 3A South sectional and fifth at the Southeast Regional tournament. He left the Giant Center in Hershey with a huge smile on his face, even though he went 0-2 in the state tournament.
C.J. Wood, Garnet Valley: The freshman just missed making the state tournament with a sixth-place finish at the PIAA Class 3A Southeast Regional. He piled up 26 wins for the Central League champion Jaguars, 23 of which came when he dropped to 113 pounds. He finished third at the Central League championships and fourth at the District 1 Class 3A West sectional.
Griffin Hollingsworth, Garnet Valley: Just a sophomore, the younger of the Hollingsworth brothers already is a two-time Central League champion and regional qualifier. He posted a 34-11 record, took third at the District 1 Class 3A West sectional at 120 pounds and finished eighth at the Bethlehem Holiday Classic.
Chase Barlow, Strath Haven: Wrestling runs in Barlow’s veins. His father, Larry, wrestled at Sun Valley and Drexel. His older brother, L.J., was a three-time Daily Times Wrestler of the Year at The Haverford School and the freshman 126-pounder is carrying on that family tradition. Barlow went 37-11 in his rookie campaign to earn his first trip to the PIAA Class 3A championships. He won the Central League and District 1 Class 3A South section titles and finished fifth at the Southeast Regional tournament to earn a trip to Hershey.
Christian Reed, Penncrest: The freshman class in Delaware County was strong and Reed was a part of that talented group. He compiled a 27-9 record in his rookie season that started at 138 pounds before dropping down to 132 where he was second at both the Central League and District 1 Class 3A West section championships to earn a trip to the PIAA Southeast Regional tournament. He went 2-2 and just missed reaching the medal round.
Gavin Hollingsworth, Garnet Valley: The senior 138-pounder closed out his career with a 96-43 record that included a 35-12 mark this season. The elder of the Hollingsworth brothers claimed his second straight Central League crown and third overall. He finished third at the District 1 Class 3A West sectional to earn a trip to the regional tournament where he finished sixth.
Brendon Stocku, Penncrest: When they update the 100 wins banner at Penncrest, Stocku’s name will be at the top of the list. He finished his career with a 128-29 record, the most wins in school history. That’s not a surprise, though, considering his lineage. His grandfather was the legendary Ridley coach Carl Schnellenbach. His father, Mike, was a state qualifier for the Green Raiders and ditto older brother Ryan. Brendon Stocku kept that family success story alive by posting his third straight 30-win season (33-10, 21 wins by fall) and making the PIAA Class 3A championships for the first time in his career. The senior 145-pounder won a Central League title for the third straight year, and was second at the District 1 Class 3A West sectional and fourth at the Southeast Regional. Stocku went 2-2 at the state tournament.
John Crawford, Strath Haven: Crawford’s goal was to be on the podium at the Giant Center in Hershey and the senior 160-pounder accomplished that feat with a sixth-place finish at the PIAA Class 3A championship, one of three medal winners from Delaware County and the first from Strath Haven. The two-time All-Delco and state qualifier closed out his career with a 90-33 record, which included a second-straight 30-win season (37-5). That mark included a second straight Central League championship, a District 1 Class 3A South title and the Southeast Regional crown.
Liam Gray, Academy Park: Gray’s name may have been misspelled on the pa-wrestling website (Grey), but that did not take away from his success. The junior 170-pounder had a breakout year in 2018-19. Gray posted a 31-8 record with 13 wins by fall and another by technical fall. He won 12 straight bouts to close out the regular-season and carried that success into the post-season where he took second at the District 1 Class 3A South sectional to earn a spot in the Southeast Regional tournament.
Shane McAdams, Haverford: The common practice for most wrestlers is to compete at one weight class during the regular-season and then drop down for the postseason. McAdams did the opposite. The junior moved from 170 to 182 pounds for the Central League, district and regional tournaments. While the jump was a little taxing, physically, it did not stop him from making a strong post-season run. McAdams won the Central League title and finished second at the District 1 Class 3A South sectional to earn a spot in the Southeast Regional tournament. McAdams went 34-5 and takes a 66-37 record into his senior season.
Bill Brosko, Marple Newtown: At 5-10 and 210 pounds, Brosko gave away height and weight to most of his opponents. As a 14-year-old freshman (he turned 15 on April 11), he also gave away age and experience. However, that did not stop Brosko from becoming just the fourth freshman to qualify for the PIAA championships at 220 pounds since the state organization went to its current weight-class format in 2012, nor did a knee injury that sidelined him for a month. Brosko returned from the injury to go 20-9 and take third at the Central League and District 1 Class 3A South sectional championships, and fifth at the Southeast Regional to earn his first trip to Hershey.
Coltin Deery, Garnet Valley: It’s rare for a sophomore to make the PIAA championships at 285 pounds let alone medal, but that’s what Deery did. He took eighth at the state meet to close out a season that included a 41-8 record, a second Central League title and championships at the District Class 3A West sectional and Southeast regional tournament. Deery also was good at putting his opponents on their backs. He set the program record for pins in a season (31) and has 48 career wins by fall in his 66-23 overall record.
Tommy Bramwell, Ridley: The burly 285-pounder capped his career with his first trip to the PIAA Class 3A championships. He finished the season with a 31-8 record, with three of those losses coming to Deery. That tells you how strong the heavyweight class was in the Central League. Bramwell won the District 1 Class 3A South title, and was second in both the Central League and Southeast Regional tournaments. He was the first wrestler from Ridley to qualify for the state tournament since John Rowles in 1999. Bramwell also earned first-team All-Delco honors in football as an offensive lineman for the Green Raiders.
