The Boyertown wrestling team asserted its dominance on the Pioneer Athletic Conference stage Wednesday night.
Its sights turned to a wider range Thursday night for the opening night of the District 1-AAA Duals tournament.
The top seed and defending champion left little doubt with a 67-6 victory over Unionville at West Chester Rustin.
After going down 3-0, the Bears rattled off nine straight wins to build a 49-3 lead. Jakob Campbell pinned at 113 to take the 100th win of his scholastic career. Also joining the pin party was Elijah Jones (170), Jordan Wood (220), Tommy Killoran (285), Matt Wilde (106), Lucas Miller (126), JT Cooley (138), Chris Berry (145) and Hunter Vogels (152).
In the match of the night, Unionville’s Mitch Camp edge Garrett Mauger, 6-5, at 132.
Boyertown faces No. 8 Spring-Ford, a 31-28 winner over Neshaminy at Council Rock South, on Feb. 5 at Upper Dublin when the tournament continues.
