DLN Roundup: Rozich’s three-hit gem powers Oxford past Henderson

Landen Rozich fired a three-hitter and Jesse Palita singled in the only run with two outs in the seventh inning to lift the Oxford baseball team to a 1-0 Ches-Mont League win over West Chester Henderson on Friday.
Rozich struck out six and walked none.
Connor McCartney, Ethan Giangiulio and Nick Cugino recorded hits for the Warriors.

West Chester Rustin 10, Bishop Shanahan 0, 5 innings >> Drew Brown homered twice and drove in six runs as the Golden Knights cruised to the Ches-Mont League triumph. David McClain, Bill Kraft and Phil Martini had solo RBIs. Kyle Kearns allowed one hit in five innings with eight strikeouts and four walks.

Downingtown West 10, Great Valley 0, 5 innings >> The Whippets scored 10 times in the first inning to power their way to the Ches-Mont victory. Dalton Downie had three RBIs and JD Harple had two to lead the offense.

Westtown 9, ANC 5 >> Taj Donald pitched five innings for the win and drove in a pair of runs as the Moose posted the nonleague win. Luke Holgate was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs.

Coatesville 8, Kennett 3 >> Justin Weaver had three hits and three RBIs to pace the Red Raiders to the Ches-Mont victory. Magnus Kreiger added two hits and a pair of RBIs.

Oxford 5, WC Henderson 2 >> CeCe Figuerora allowed five hits over seven innings as the Hornets posted the Ches-Mont victory. Sydney Kargulewicz drove in two runs for Oxford to highlight a four-run third inning. Gabrielle Nanni collected two hits for the Warriors.

Unionville 14, Coatesville 12 >> Julia Heimberger had four hits eith an RBI and three runs scored as the Longhorns captured the Ches-Mont slugfest. Madison Parisi was the winning pitcher and helped her own cause with a pair of doubles. Rachel Kleckner homered, doubled and drove in four for the Red Raiders.

WC Rustin 5, Bishop Shanahan 3 >> Joslyn Garner singled and doubled as the Golden Knights edged the Eagles in the Ches-Mont win. Kelly Fricker, Olivia Garner and Ella Hambleton added doubles. Lauren Greenwood earned the win, striking out five. Ashlyn Gunn had two hits for Shanahan.

Boys Lacrosse

Kennett 15, Pine-Richland 13 >> Bo Freebery and Zach Hulme had six goals and two assists each as the Blue Demons held on for the nonleague win. Colin Jung added three goals and Josh Holt recorded 12 saves.
