DLN roundup: Rustin’s Seaman set school’s lacrosse career scoring record

The West Chester Rustin High School boys’ lacrosse team defeated Sun Valley, 21-2, Thursday, and Marek Seaman (one goal, four assists) broke the school’s record for career goals in this contest, scoring his 139th career goal. Other top Rustin contributors included Jake Jackson (four goals, three assists), Jack O’Hora (two goals, two assists), Antonio Santangelo (four goals), Aaron Cotter (three goals) and Jackson Lamb (two goals, one assist). The Golden Knights led 15-0 at halftime.

Kennett 15, West Chester East 3 >> For the Blue Demons, Zach Hulme (seven goals, two assists) scored his 200th career goal, Bo Freebery chipped in with four goals and three assists and Colin Jung tallied his 100th career point. Goalie Josh Holt recorded seven saves.

Downingtown West 17, Great Valley 1 >> Owen Lundmark scored five goals to lead the Whippets scoring, while Bram Monroe (four goals, four assists) and Bret Bergey  (three goals, three assists) also were big contributors. Owen Chicosky (two goals), Carter Grear (one goal), Eddie Moore (one goal) and Ryan Merrick (one goal) rounded out the scoring.  Thomas Venzie had seven ground balls and Dylan Stang had four saves to lead the defense.

Ridley 12, Conestoga 7 >> The Pioneers were led by Wade Beckstrom (three goals) and Drew Merschel (two goals). James McGrath recorded six saves.

Unionville 7, West Chester Henderson 6 >> Logan Goodwin and Max Abrahams each scored two goals fore the warriors, and Henderson goalie Giules DiLiberto recorded seven saves.

 

Girls’ Lacrosse

Conestoga 17, Ridley 5 >> Kate Galica (five goals, eight draw controls) scored her 200th career for the Pioneers (8-1). Chloe Brown tallied four goals, and Ellie Wisch and Kiki Liebezeit scored two apiece.

Kennett 14, West Chester East 7 >> The Blue Demons were led by Makayla Kelly (five goals, three assists), Marissa Harring (four goals), Greta Burns (two goals) and Bridget Wells (two goals). Goalie Elle McCracken recorded eight saves for Kennett.

Avon Grove 17, Oxford 7 >> For the Hornets, standouts included Alexis Reinard (three goals, three assists), Ava Soucek (three goals) and Mackenzie Clark (three caused turnovers).

 

Boys’ Tennis

Cougars shine at Ches-Mont National singles >> Three of the four players who advanced to the semifinals in the Ches-Mont National Division singles tournament are from Downingtown East, as Cougars Shrihan Madam, Soumil Patel and Abhiraj Srivastava all won their quarterfinals matches. West Chester East’s Ben Gao is the other semifinalist. In the semifinals, Madam will face Patel and Srivastava will face Gao.
