
Upper Dublin 4, Wissahickon 3 >> The tennis season got off to a flying start for the Cardinals with a thrilling SOL Liberty win on Thursday. The Cardinals won 2 out of 3 singles matches led by a 6-2, 6-1 at No. 1 singles by Scott Schlackman over Noah Cyclich. Tommao Serafini also won at No. 3 singles for Upper Dublin and the doubles teams split the four matches. Andy Wang won a convincing No. 2 singles match for Wissahickon by a 6-1, 6-2 score over Tim Sheaffer.
Souderton 4, Pennridge 3 >> The Souderton boys tennis team opened its season with a 4-3 victory over SOL Colonial rival Pennridge. The victory was sealed by sophomores Evan Cole and Rishi Dhanasekaran at No. 2 doubles, who won the third set of the final and deciding match by scores of 6-3, 4-6, 6-3. The Rams were solid at the top of the lineup with straight set singles wins by Linus Lienkamp and Isaac Hartzell. Ethan Archer posted a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles for Souderton.
Abington 6, Quakertown 1 >> The Ghosts only lost at No. 1 singles, coasting to the SOL Liberty win on Thursday. Max Hayes and Jonah Greeley both won by identical 6-0, 6-3 scores at No. 2 and 3 singles for Abington. Will Goldstein and Sam Mahood rallied at No. 1 doubles with a 2-6, 6-0, 6-1 victory.
