Archbishop Wood 57, West Catholic 30: Emily Knouse was locked in from long range, knocking down eight 3-pointers in scoring 26 points as Archbishop Wood (16-3, 8-0 PCL) won its eighth straight Thursday.
West Catholic (11-8, 4-4 PCL) had its three-game win streak snapped.
Methacton 51, Boyertown 36: Cassidy Kropp collected 19 points as Methacton took control by outscoring Boyertown 23-8 in the third quarter to build a 41-23 lead as the Warriors clinched third place in the PAC Liberty Division and the fifth seed in the conference playoffs.
Mairi Smith recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds while Reana Torres had nine points and 10 rebounds for Methacton (15-6, 10-3 PAC, 7-3 PAC Liberty), who face No. 4 Pope John Paul II Thursday at Perkiomen Valley.
Carlie Schweizer scored 12 points for Boyertown (7-15, 5-8, 2-8).
Archbishop Carroll 67, Neumann-Goretti 49: Taylor Wilson scored a career-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Archbishop Carroll used strong second and fourth quarters to claim a Philadelphia Catholic League win.
Brooke Wilson also had a double-double, finishing with 18 points and 10 rebounds while Alexis Eberz added 13 points for the Patriots, who outscored Neumann-Goretti 22-12 in the second quarter to lead 32-24 at halftime. Up 10 entering the fourth, Carroll pulled away by besting the Saints 21-13 in the final eight minutes.
Amya Scott’s 18 points paced Neumann-Goretti (8-12, 5-3) while Carryn Easley chipped in 16 points.
Villa Maria 30, Gwynedd Mercy 27 (OT): Villa Maria hit a shot at the buzzer in overtime to edge Gwynedd Mercy and finish undefeated in AACA regular-season play.
Hannah Griffin’s nine points paced GMA (17-4, 7-3), who had a two-game win streak snapped. Emilia Coleman and Dylan Burke had six and four points, respectively. Villa Maria (19-2, 10-0) has won its last seven.
Calvary Baptist 41, Delco Christian 33: Calvary Baptist finished the nonleague contest with a 10-0 run and extended its winning streak to 11.
Aubrey Hampton led the Warriors (13-3, 6-0 ACCAC) with 13 points, Aubrey Ridge added 11 points while Grace Leader had 10 points.
Calvary Baptist took a 12-point lead in the first quarter but Delco Christian (11-7) cut the margin to five at halftime and pulled ahead in the fourth.
Boys Basketball
Norristown 53, Owen J. Roberts 35: Norristown outscored Owen J. Roberts 19-2 in the second quarter to take full control of their PAC Liberty matchup Thursday.
Jayden Byrd led the Eagles (10-11, 8-5 PAC, 5-5 PAC Liberty) with 15 points while Jaden Wise added 13 and Myon Kirlew had nine.
Methacton 69, Boyertown 55: Sal Iemmello made four of Methacton’s 10 3-pointers as the Warriors jumped out to a 25-10 lead after a quarter and went on to finish the regular season with a PAC Liberty win.
Alex Hermann had 13 points while Matt Christian added 11 points for Methacton (15-7, 9-4 PAC, 7-3 division), who have won three of its last four.
Jake Kapp scored a game-high 21 points for Boyertown (14-7, 6-7, 4-6). Dylan Klass totaled 13 points for the Bears with Zach Ward collecting 11 points.
Wrestling
Plymouth Whitemarsh 45, Wissahickon 23: Wissahickon jumped out to a 21-0 lead but Plymouth Whitemarsh won seven of the last eight matches to rally for a SOL Liberty Division victory Wednesday.
Earning wins for Wissahickon were Evan Prestipino (189), Tyler Prince (215), Ryan Lee (285), David Lottman (121) and Walter Vandegrift (107)
