PW 53, Berks Catholic 47 >> PW withstood a barrage of 3-pointers from Berks Catholic to earn a hard-fought win on Friday night at the West York Tournament. The Colonials closed the game with a 14-4 run to start off the season victorious. Erin Daley led the way with 19 points, wihle Angelina Balcer and Abby Sharpe each added 16.

Abington 59, WC Rustin 52 >> Maya Johnson and Cire Worley each scored 20 points as the Ghosts opened action with a win at The Jim Church Classic on Friday night.

Souderton 48, Mount St. Joe’s 33 >> Casey Harter finished with 18 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds as the Indians won big at The Jim Church Classic on Friday night. Mikayla McGillan added 10 points and 5 rebounds for Souderton, which will host Abington in the championship game.

Methacton 56, Ridley 41 >> Cassidy Kropp scored 17 points and added 7 rebounds as the Warriors won in the Lady Warrior Classic on Friday night. Mairi Smith added 21 points and 10 boards for Methacton, which will host Harriton on Saturday in the championship game.

Boys basketball

Dock 57, Upper Dublin 54 >> Nathan Lapp scored 26 points and Tony Martin chipped in 12 as Dock won its first game of the season at the Jim Church Classic at Souderton on Friday night. Ryan Mulroy scored 18 points to pace Upper Dublin.

CB East 86, Tennent 73 >> Jacob Cummiskey scored 24 points and added six rebounds as the Patriots won their opener in the Pennridge Memorial Tournament on Friday night. Tyler Dandrea added 18 points, while Dhruy Markand scored 12 for East. Kirby Mooney poured in 27 points for Tennent, while George Marion added 19.

Upper Merion 52, New Hope 17 >> Ten players scored as the Vikings won big on Friday night. Qwynne Seals hit a pair of 3-pointers to lead the way for Upper Merion.

Pennridge 59, Quakertown 52 >> Matt Campione scored 17 points while Ryan Hass added 16 as the Rams won on Friday night against their rivals. Pennridge will host William Tennent on Saturday.

Archbishop Wood 82, Downingtown West 56 >> Jahlil Bethea poured in 27 points as the Vikings were victorious in their opener on Friday night. Bethea was deadly from the perimeter, finishing with seven 3-pointers on the night. Milan Dean added 13 points for Wood.
