DLN Roundup: Unionville nips Kennett in golf
The Unionville golf team survived windy conditions to knock off Kennett 201-205 at Hartefeld Golf Course on Thursday.
Ryan Megill paced the Longhorns (8-2) with a 36. Jax Puskar recorded a 40 and Jack Coleman added a 41.
Kasim Narinesingh-Smith and freshman Lily Kochersperger had 39s for the Blue Demons, who ended their season at 7-3 in the Ches-Mont American and 12-4 overall.
Griffin Gaughan and Drew Zieg added a 42 apiece.

Downingtown East 209, WC Henderson 213 >> Bryan Wright shot a 40 and Jackson Lucca a 41 as the Cougars (8-2) won their sixth straight in the Ches-Mont National contest. Owen Wise and Charlie Barnello carded 42s apiece and James Lambe added a 44. Josh Barker led the Warriors with a 39.
Downingtown West 192, West Chester East 218 >> Brady Manning led the way with a 35 as the Whippets posted the Ches-Mont National victory. Bret Bergey added a 36 and Noah Stefani and Evan Gross had 40s. Thomas Baschoff led the Vikings with a 40.

Downingtown East 170, Downingtown West 177 >> Mia Pace had a hole-in-one on the par-3 15th in her round of 38 as the Cougars (8-2) edged the Whippets (6-4) in the Ches-Mont National contest. Silvana Gonzalez also had a 38 with five birdies and Julia Nawalany had a 46. Emma Lewis led the Whippets with a 40 and Malania Druffner carded a 45.

Great Valley 226, Avon Grove 226 >> The Patriots and the Red Devils tied the Ches-Mont contest. Katelyn Grimes led the Patriots with a 52 and Elena Six had a 56. Delaney Driscoll paced the Red Devils with a 53.

Downingtown West 2, Downingtown East 1, 2ot >> Alex Ely scored with three minutes left in double overtime to hand the Whippets the Ches-Mont National win. Matt Grier tied the game with 10 minutes left in regulation. Matt Lohr recorded two assists.
Bishop Shanahan 6, Oxford 2 >> Salvi DeBellis recorded a hat trick as the Eagles notched the Ches-Mont victory. Michael Ziegler, Patrick Moore and Will Kristoff also recorded goals. William Smith and Jiovanni Zavala tallied for the Hornets.

Downingtown West 3, Downingtown East 0 >> The Whippets swept their way to the Ches-Mont National victory by scores of 25-11, 25-21, 25-19. Camryn Tuffner led the way with 11 kills, four blocks and 10 digs. Darny Wller collected seven kills, eight aces and 16 digs. Emma Helveston added five kills and five blocks, Bella Terra had 14 digs, Melanie Bowman recorded 23 assists and Ava Brotze and Fallon Mitchell had three kills each.
West Chester East 3, Kennett 1 >> The Vikings captured the Ches-Mont matchup, 25-11, 25-17, 22-25, 25-12. Elliet Manning led with 12 digs, 33 assists and three aces. Alexa Mork colletced 26 kills, nine digs and two aces. Annie Kerns recorded five kills, two blocks and two aces and Izzy Byrne had four digs and four assists.
