Boys Basketball: WC Henderson tabs Jason Ritter as boys hoops coach pending approval

WEST CHESTER- The lone Ches-Mont league boys basketball opening is close to being filled. Pending West Chester School Board approval, Jason Ritter, the former Downingtown West coach will be named the new boys hoops coach at West Chester Henderson. The Henderson job came open when Rob Frattura’s contract was not renewed after a season the Warriors went 16-8 and advanced to the second round of the District 1 6A playoffs.

“I would really want Henderson basketball to play with discipline and hope we always play with a lot of energy,” Ritter said. “The Ches-Mont National Division is loaded with talent but we hope to be in the mix and I want the kids to play with a ton of energy.”

Ritter was the Downingtown west boys coach for four years before he left after the 2016 season. While at Downingtown West, Ritter won the 2015 Ches-Mont League championship and won the 2015 and 2016 Ches-Mont National Division titles.

“Jason has won in the past and we are excited to welcome him to West Chester Henderson,’ West Chester Henderson Athletic Director Ken Mccormick said. “He is a member of the West Chester community and we are excited to have him here.”

West Chester Henderson finished third in the Ches-Mont National Division last season behind league winner West Chester East and Downingtown West.
