OJR’s Fink, Phoenixville’s Pappas set pool records in OJR sweep

Owen J. Roberts 98, Phoenixville 78 >> Dalton Fink had one record-breaking swim in the course of the Wildcats’ Pioneer Athletic Conference win over the Phantoms Thursday.
Fink clocked a pool-record 51.99 in the 100 back to go with his first in the 200 IM (2:03.26). Jack Hussin was a two-event winner for Phoenixville, topping the 200 free (1:46.88) and 500 free (4:69.30).

Methacton 93, Spring-Ford 83 >> Christopher Groff and Dylan Phan both won pairs of individual events to key the Warriors’ PAC win over the Rams Thursday.
Groff took the 200 free (1:50.31) and 100 back (58.21) while Phan did the same in the 200 IM (2:13.51) and 100 breast (1:04.70). Phan also swam legs of Methacton’s winning 200 medley (1:43.56) 400 free relay (3:32.82).

Owen J. Roberts 104, Phoenixville 79 >> Erini Pappas had a record-breaking day for the Phantoms in Thursday’s PAC meet with the Wildcats.
Pappas broke the OJR pool record in the 100 back, swimming a 58.69; she also won the 100 fly in 58.42. Roberts’ individual-event winners were Lauren Zelinski in the 200 free (2:01.87), Natalie Spencer in the 50 free (25.64) and Eliana Crew in the 100 free (53.94).
Spring-Ford 95, Methacton 88 >> Maris Sadowski and Ashley Gutshall each won two individual events to lead the Rams past the Warriors in Thursday’s PAC meet.
Sadowski headed the 200 IM (2:22.11) and 100 back (1:02.98) while Gutshall took the 50 free (25.71) and 100 free (57.12). Madison Wimmer gave Methacton firsts in the 200 free (2:04.28) and 500 free (5:33.99).
Boys basketball
Reading High 67, Daniel Boone 34 >> Moro Osumanu scored 16 points, Daniel Alcantara had 15 and the Red Knights handled the Blazers in Thursday’s Berks League action.
Michael Gaines drilled four 3-pointers to finish with a team-high 13 points for Boone. Reading High opened with a 31-8 run in the first quarter.
