Reporter Girls Basketball Roundup: Souderton, Germantown Academy keep wins streaks intact
Souderton 41, Quakertown 25 >> Souderton got balanced scoring and pulled away in the third quarter of Tuesday’s SOL Continental matchup to claim its fourth consecutive victory.
Mikeala Reese led the Indians (9-4, 3-3 conference) with nine points and also collected five rebounds and four assists while Olivia Schneider and Casey Harter both scored eight points. Jordan Zimmerman added seven points, seven rebounds and four assists with Hannah Alderfer posting six points, six rebounds and three steals.
Souderton took a 24-14 lead into half and extended its advantage to 34-16 by the end of the third.
Carolyn Sipprell scored a game-high 10 points for Quakertown (3-9, 0-6)
Germantown Academy 48, Baldwin School 26 >> Jessica Moore paced Germantown Academy with 14 points as the Patriots rolled to a fourth straight win in the Inter-Ac matchup.
Becca Booth finished with 12 points while Jaye Haynes added 10 points for the Patriots (15-3, 4-0 league), who led 28-12 then blew open the game in the third by outscoring Baldwin 19-6.
Anajah Brown scored a game-high 19 points for the Bears (5-7, 0-4).
Upper Moreland 40, Wissahickon 29 >> EmmyFaith Wood hit three 3-pointers in scoring a game-high 17 points &mdash eight coming in the fourth — as Upper Moreland earned an SOL American win.
Bean Hughes chipped in nine points for the Golden Bears (7-6, 4-3 conference), who were up 19-15 at halftime before pushing their lead to 29-21 by outscoring Wissahickon 10-6 in the third.
Lauren Fadel and Kaitlyn McGreary each scored six points to lead the Trojans (5-7, 2-5), who lost its second straight.
