Presenting 2019 All-Main Line cross-country teams

Last fall, the Main Line high school cross-country trails featured some fine runners who were among the leaders at the state, district and league championships.
Because Main Line Media News covers 19 high schools, the Main Line Media News sports staff limits the number of spots available to first team, second team and honorable mention — but follows the priority of each coach’s nominations. What follows are the 2019 All-Main Line high school cross-country teams:
FIRST TEAM – BOYS
Charlie Miller, Conestoga – Junior enjoyed a string of strong post-season performances, finishing 14th at the District 1 AAA Championships (16:00), then placing 41st at PIAA Class AAA Championships (16:44.00).
Owen Maier, Episcopal Academy – Senior finished eighth in PAISAA state championships, and third at both Inter-Ac Championships and at Briarwood.
Diego Spielman-Rodriguez, Friends’ Central – Junior finished first at the Friends’ Schools League Championship, and placed fourth at the PAISAA state championship.
Sam Kartsonis, Harriton – Senior finished second at Central League championships (16:12.80), placed 16th at District 1 AAA Championships (16:03.00) and was 23rd at the PIAA Class AAA state championships (16:27.90).
Michael Donnelly, Haverford High – Senior was undefeated in regular season, won Delco Championships for the second consecutive year and was Abington Invitational champion.
Josh Fingerhut, Haverford High – Senior finished seventh at Abington Invitational, placed ninth at Briarwood and was seventh at Central League Championships. Was first team All-Delco runner.
Joey Litvin, Lower Merion – Senior was the Aces’ MVP (team finished seventh at States), finished fourth at Central League Championships, and seventh at PIAA Foundation Meet.
Frank Brown, Radnor – Senior was fifth at Delco Championships, 11th at Central League Championships, and 27th at District 1 AAA Championships. Was first team All-Delco runner.
SECOND TEAM – BOYS
Episcopal Academy – Bradley French, junior; Connor Hanrahan, freshman; Charlie Kraftson, freshman.
Haverford High – Will Field, senior; Ethan Fingerhut, sophomore.
Haverford School – AJ Sanford, junior.
Lower Merion – Simon Schneider, sophomore; TJ Gannon, junior.
Malvern Prep – Collin Hess, sophomore.
Radnor – Owen Leonard, senior.
HON. MENTION – BOYS
Devon Prep – Keaton Rush, sophomore; Max Mongiello, sophomore; Kevin Walton, senior.
Friends’ Central – Ethan Cohen, sophomore.
Harriton – Finn Glew, junior; Leo Perlstein, sophomore.
Haverford High – Ryan Murry, senior.
Haverford School: Lleyton Winslow, senior; Ben Szathmary, sophomore.
Radnor – Jimmy Kurtz, sophomore.
Shipley – Zach Freels, junior.
FIRST TEAM – GIRLS
Lyndsey Smith, Academy of Notre Dame – Senior finished seventh at PAISAA Championships, and fourth at both Inter-Ac championship meet and Delco Championships. Was first team All-Delco runner.
Therese Trainer, Academy of Notre Dame – Freshman placed ninth at PAISAA Championships, and third at both Inter-Ac championship meet and Delco Championships. Was first team All-Delco runner.
Lydia Russell – Friends’ Central – Senior was first at the PAISAA championships with a meet record 18:06.40, was first at Friends Schools League championship and posted the second-best time ever at the Briarwood Invitational. Will run for University of Oregon next fall.
Micah Trusty, Friends’ Central – Sophomore finished fifth at PAISAA Championships and third at Friends Schools League championships. Was a key cog in the Phoenix capturing the PAISAA team title.
Rebecca Wusinich, Friends’ Central – Senior finished sixth at PAISAA state championship, fifth at Friends Schools League Championships, and was a key cog in the Phoenix capturing the PAISAA team championship.
Maura Timoney, Haverford High – Junior finished fifth in the Delco Championships, fourth in the Central League Championships and was a first team All-Delco runner.
Sarah Hurst, Lower Merion – Junior was Central League champion (19:18.50), finished eighth at Briarwood, and enjoyed a strong post-season, finishing 21st at District 1 AAA championships (19:05.30) and 27th at PIAA Class AAA state championships (19:29).
SECOND TEAM – GIRLS
Academy of Notre Dame – Cara Stevenson, sophomore.
Conestoga – Lauren Hino, senior.
Episcopal Academy – Jilliana McEntee, junior; Alexandra Gobran, freshman.
Friends’ Central – Miracle Price, sophomore; Natalie Neuhaus, junior.
Haverford High – Katya Eruslanova, freshman; Katrina Miciek, senior; McKenna Loney, junior.
Merion Mercy – Marianne Cheeley, freshman; Claudia Campisciano, sophomore.
Sacred Heart Academy – Kayleigh Doyle, senior.
Villa Maria Academy – Carly Ukalovic, senior; Katie Regan, senior.
HON. MENTION – GIRLS
Agnes Irwin – Caroline Shannon, senior; Sarah Toth, sophomore.
