Reporter Girls Basketball Roundup: McGriff helps North Penn top Unionville at WCU Christmas Classic
North Penn 51, Unionville 34 >> Val McGriff scored nine of her game-high 12 points in the fourth quarter as North Penn pulled away from Unionville Friday at the West Chester University Christmas Classic.
Alli Lindsay added 11 points while Kate Early collected 10 points for the Knights (4-2, 1-1 SOL Continental), who led 19-18 at halftime. North Penn pushed its advantage to 29-22 by the end of the third then outscored the Indians 22-12 in the fourth.
Anna Iacocca paced Unionville with nine points.
Delone Catholic 52, Pennridge 44 >> Julia Kreider led Pennridge with 13 points while Ashley Gordon added 12 points but the Rams (4-3, 1-1 SOL Continental) could not rally back after trailing 43-32 entering the fourth and fell to Delone Catholic at the Boyertown holiday tournament.
West Catholic 74, Abington Friends 41 >> Kendall Hodges led Abington Friends with 16 points as the Kangaross couldn’t slow down West Catholic at the WCU Christmas Classic.
Paige Mott posted a double-double, going for 11 points, 11 rebounds and also handed out four assists for AFS (8-3, 1-0 Friends Schools League). Ty’Lah Washington added 10 points.
